Ittipol Jangchud
Chair of PACCON 2022

On behalf of the organizing committee, we invite you to attend the Pure & Applied Chemistry International Conference (PACCON2022), hosted by the School of Science, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), in collaboration with the Chemical Society of Thailand (CST) under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, in May 2022. This meeting truly marks the 65th anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, who has continuously supported and promoted the advance of chemical science in this country. It also notes the 45th anniversary of the School of Science, KMITL.

Over the past 20 years, PACCON has become the preeminent yearly meeting of chemical science. With the COVID-19 pandemic, we have already missed an opportunity to feature talks from leading researchers and practitioners from around the world for nearly two years. This would be an impatient event for us to seek answers to the same fundamental questions and learn more about the recent findings. Throughout bustling oral and poster sessions to cross-fertilize ideas and plenty of opportunities to catch up with colleagues in this meeting, we will be looking back at the evolution of the study during tough time for chemical research, and also looking forward to the next chapter of chemical science for Health, Energy, and Sustainability.

Best regards,

Ittipol Jangchud
Chair of PACCON 2022

Message from the President

The Chemical Society of Thailand under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak The Princess Srisavangkavadhana

Supa Hannongbua
President, the Chemical Society of Thailand

On behalf of the Chemical Society of Thailand (CST), I welcome you all to the Pure and Applied Chemistry International Conference 2022 which has been co-organized by King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and will be held during May 30-31 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre: BITEC, Bangkok, THAILAND.

Since the founding of the Chemical Society of Thailand (CST) in 1980, the first PACCON was launched in 2002 and now the conference has brought together thousands of participants and invited speakers across Asia and the world to participating, disseminating, and sharing knowledge of recent advancement in chemistry and related areas. In addition to the main conference, there are several important symposia as showcases of how the chemistry innovation progress under the theme, “Frontiers in Chemical Sciences for Health, Energy, and Sustainability”

The conference has a comprehensive program and includes presentations from a number of eminent scientists. As always, the conference will provide oral and poster presentations of pure and applied chemistry led by world well-known chemists. Moreover, we also provide a special session for teachers who experts in teaching chemistry in school nationwide for acquainting them with international atmosphere. This is another activity of CST to promote education in chemistry at school level with the aim to increase Chemical Science Literacy and public understanding of how importance of chemistry in improving their standard of living. In addition, the small scale chemistry workshop will be arranged in order to build the capacity of teachers to be the trainers of the other teachers in ASEAN countries in teaching the hands-on science experiments to the students with safety and at low cost. We hope that this project will be beneficial to the country and ASEAN community.

After COVID-19, PACCON 2022 is the one of our significant activities. We trust that by sharing and understanding the recent progress in chemistry, we will be updated on the latest trends in chemistry as well as be informed about innovative research strategies to empower our students and people in this world to live well in this fast changing world.

I am very proud of the effort taken by the Department of Chemistry, School of Science, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) as the main organizer in holding this conference. The endeavor taken by the organizing committee in gathering the plenary and invited speakers as well as the participants nationwide and overseas to address the challenges in establishing the chemical sciences for well-being and sustainability, reflects the commitment given in engaging the scholars, thoughts with tools and technology. I congratulate the organizing committee for the hard work and dedication in making this conference a great success.

I wish all the participants fruitful deliberations and believe that all of you will enjoy the sharing and exchanging of your expertise. I also hope that the conference shall further advance chemistry for life and sustainable future.

Thank you.
